Topic: Until The SPIRIT Comes!
Text: Isaiah 32: 14- 15
14 The fortress will be abandoned, the noisy city deserted; citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever, the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks, 15 till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. Amen
Just before His ascension, the Lord Jesus told His disciples: “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1: 8)
He also said, “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” (Luke 24: 49)
The church of our Lord cannot do without the presence and anointing of the Holy Spirit. He is the power of God in action; the refreshing grace that turns deserts into fertile fields and the fertile fields into forests.
He guides us into all truth and reveals the mind of the Father to us. He is the grace of God that is sufficient for our every weakness; so that when we are weak, then we are strong.
If it is not the Spirit of God at work in our lives, homes and churches, then how have we hoped to please the Lord? With our carnality? Even after Paul had taught that “those who are in the realms of the flesh cannot please God”? (Rom 8: 8)
Gather together all whose lives have become dry and rough. Talking about those individuals and churches whose fortresses seem abandoned, and their noisy cities, deserted. Even the very many whose spiritual watchtower has become a wasteland now.
Say to them, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3: 19) – even the outpour of the Holy Spirit! Begin to pray now in the name of Jesus. Ask for the overflow of the Holy Spirit in you and over all you do. Also, pray His revival in your church, pastors and leaders.
Now get ready for the life that is full of the supernatural; with miracles, signs and wonders attesting to the presence of God in your life. The abundance of grace that makes fertile every dry desert in your life, and makes a forest from the fertile field you will become. That is what we call ‘moving from glory to glory.’
The Holy Spirit; He makes all the difference. Call on Him now. Ask for His infilling one more time. Your life is not going to remain the same again. See you at church.
