Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. “I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Amen
King Saul had a powerful armour; one which wieghed heavier than young David could bear. Yet he was very much afraid of Goliath and hid in caves, He and all Israel with him.
Do you now realize that you rely too much on the arm of flesh; your qualification, experience and your status in life. While these things earn you great respect in society, they really don’t deal with the issues that highly intimidate you at night.
Deep inside you are terrified by battles at work, school and the home that seem to overwhelm you. Your heart is weak although you bear the biggest armour in the eyes of men.
Well, the time has come that you put your confidence in the Lord like David did in verse 45. Your victory is assured once you regconise that the battle is not yours.
Pray Now and hand over all your fears to God. He is the God of the armies of Israel.
