They Cared For His needs!

Topic: They Cared For His needs!
Text: Mark 15: 40- 41

40 Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, and Salome. 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for His needs. Many other women who had come up with Him to Jerusalem were also there. Amen

It had been the most gruesome friday in the life of Jesus and His disciples. Hurled away by the temple soldiers from the early hours of the day, Jesus had known nothing but mysery and torture.

It begun when a disciple went away in the cover of darkness to betray Him for silver coins. At Gethsemene, those who were left with Him refused to keep watch with Him in prayer.

When the temple guards arrested Him, they manhandled Him till they got to the temple for His Jewish trial. There He was slapped and spat on for a reply He gave the high priest.

The mockery and abuse got worse from there as He was dragged to Pilate’s courts. Later to Herod’s residence and then back to Pilate. This they did till a death sentence was obtained to “finally eliminate” Him.

As all these were going on, most of His friends were no where to be found. One had betrayed Him. Another denied Him three times. The rest are not heard about except for John who did his best to stick around.

*However till His last breath, the women who had followed Him throughout His ministry and who had always cared for His needs, stood with Him* THOUGH FROM A DISTANCE, THEY NEVER LET HIM OUT OF SIGHT TILL IT WAS ALL OVER.

Such a divine position to be; such a rare support in our day and time. For whatever Divine Assignment God had called you to do, may He grant you helpers who would genuinely care for your needs and will walk with you through your darkest circumstances.

They may not have the ability to do much under those circumstances but their presence, and the fact that they have always been a backbone, would be such a great support through the changing scenes of your life.

God is going to use these rare people, be they family, friends or some people touched by your life; to show you that He is near and will never forsake you. It is amazing!

Begin to pray right now for all those who have been there for you through thick and thin. Those who have not abandoned the course, you have had to suffer for the kingdom sake. Pray for them. Ask the Lord to grant them help and comfort for their own day of trouble too. He should teach you how to care for people’s needs and remain a pillar of support in their lives, to the end.

Always remember that the issues of life are very heavy. Everyone could use some great support from others. Those who remain supportive of others, leave an indelible imprint in their lives. These beneficiaries never forget them. No wonder Jesus revealed Himself first to these women after His resurrection. They did much for Him. His resurrection was to be a great compensation for all the genuine emotions His death had caused them. Think about these!
