There’s A Gap

Topic: There’s A Gap
Text: Luke 16: 27-31

“And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.'”” Amen

This text is commonly referred to as Lazarus and the Rich Man. But please don’t misunderstand its message to mean all rich people will go to hell and all poor people, heaven! It just depicts a difference in lifestyle between two characters and the consequences thereof.

One important thing we should all note is the fact that there is actually a place where a drop of water cannot be found. That place must be full of torment. You just imagine a day in your life without water. How devastating it will be if that should continue unto eternity. HELL IS REAL Beloved!

For all you know, someone is begging on your behalf like the richman did for his brothers whose life choices may not be any better than his while he was alive. This whole time too however, father Abraham is explaining to him that if you will not listen to word we preach everyday and repent, there is no way you’ll listen should anyone return from the dead to prove hell is real.

Family, we all need to take a critical look into our lives and see where in eternity we are headed for. To be with the Lord or to be where there is torment and gnashing of teeth. To be caught up with Him should He appear now to take His own with Him, or to be cast into hell where brimstone burns unending.

When church service is over, when the sermon on radio is done, when the gospel music stops, when there is no one around where you are, the question is “do you know Jesus”? Does He live in your life? Are you washed by the blood of the lamb? Are you born of the water, Spirit and the blood? Does God know you as His?

Beloved, we are in the PASSION WEEK, meditate on the above and begin to pray. Remember the height from which you fell and come back to your first love. Jesus is waiting to receive and prepare you like a bride ready for the coming of the bridegroom. Do not let self righteousness cost you eternity with the Lord. Let all who think themselves as standing, take heed, lest they fall.
