Topic: The Word Must Go Viral!
Text: Matthew 24: 14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Amen
A quick observation around the world reveals so much evil and ungodliness, such that we sometimes conclude that the gospel of our Lord Jesus has lost its power to convict this world of sin. Evil seems to be on the rise and righteousness, diminishing.
However, dear beloved, that is not entirely so. “.. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruits and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth.” (Colossians 1: 6).
Although mankind appears to be more inclined towards evil, the fact on the ground remains that many more hunger and thirst after God and His righteousness. They, like us, have never stopped rejoicing since GRACE found and CHANGED them.
Won’t you agree however, that receiving the word is not enough and that we must grow in it and bear fruits as a testimony to the world? Apostle Paul, was very elated to be informed of how the Colossians had gladly received the gospel. However, he desired more for them. He wrote to them saying: “… since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to FILL YOU with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” (Col 1: 9- 10)
Imagine the impact we will have on our world if all who received the word of God were filled with spiritual knowledge both to understand and live by it; growing in it every day and bearing fruits of righteousness. Also, imagine the great impact there would be if all of us decide to share the word of God at home, in the office, at school, on WhatsApp, twitter, Facebook etc.
Begin to pray therefore. Pray that all believers will be filled with spiritual wisdom both to understand and also live by the word of God. Also, pray that we see the urgency to spread this word before the end comes. Can the Lord count on you for this? HIS WORD MUST GO VIRAL!
