The Lord Will Keep You From Harm!

Topic: The Lord Will Keep You From Harm!
Text: Psalm 121: 7- 8.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— He will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Amen

Many things make us uncertain, unsecured and afraid although the Bible firmly cautions that “…God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim 1: 7).

We are either too careful to step out of our comfort zones, or expectant that something terrible awaits us in the course of our pilgrimage. We are afraid of witches and wizards, afraid of the dark, afraid that we will fail and afraid of everything that can be.

One day in the Bible when Jezebel was briefed on how Elijah had killed the prophets of Baal, she sent a messenger to Elijah saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.” Then he (Elijah) was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. (1 Kings 19).

How powerful is Jezebel compared to the mighty power of our great God? Yet the prophet allowed fear to make him a fugitive. Beloved, refuse to succumb to the threats of the evil one. The Lord will keep you from all harm— He will watch over your life!

Rise up therefore and face the uncertainties of this new week. Approach your work and studies with your confidence in the abilities of our God. For “the LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deut 31: 8).

Embark on this all-important trip knowing that the same God seeing to your going will bring you back to your family and loved ones safely.

Begin to pray all your fears and “faithlessness” away. Pray with the song, “Kept by the power of God”. Break every attack on your life, career, academics and family in the name of Jesus.

Finally be strong and take courage in the Lord thy God; for greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world (1 John 4: 4). He will not let your feet slip. Actually, He who watches over you neither slumbers nor sleeps (Ps 121: 3). He will watch over you both now and forevermore. Therefore go in this thy might and do exploit for Jesus.
