Today’s Devotion
Topic: The Attached Condition.
Text: Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Amen.
Usually, when people say God is good, it is because they have a good testimony to share. It is not very common to find people going through hard moments and still proclaiming the goodness of God. It is either questions like “why me?” is being asked or “how long more do I have to suffer” becomes the constant word of sigh.
However, we realise from the above bible verse that Apostle Paul in some of his most difficult moments, he took some time to remind everyone that ALL THINGS (THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY) WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD of an individual.
Did you identify that, there is an attached condition to the text?” “……all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Outside the will of God, many a times, nothing good comes out of sufferings. But the good news is that, for those that love God and do His will, His strength is always sufficient for them. He works good out of even their most terrible situations. The account of many bible characters like Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, Job, and the likes, prove this fact.
So, as another week begins, realize that waking up early to start the day without God amounts to very little and every hardship suffered in this does not actually go to one’s benefit as the will of God. Begin to pray and ask God for His guidance. God will see to your going in and your coming out. He will turn all things around for your good and cause your cup to overflow with blessings.
The odds may rise against you, but the Lord will be by your side like a might warrior and turn your battle field into a praise field. He will continue to perfect His love through your every circumstance, until your story confirms to even the toughest unbeliever, the wonders of our God.
Cheer up and face the day with Christ. All of these that make you afraid and unsure, will work for your good, you’d see! Just worry about loving God and being in His will. Then you leave Him to worry about the rest.
