Topic: Tell Others Too
Text: Joshua 23: 6, 8
6 Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left. 8 But you are to hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have until now. Amen.
These were some of the final words of Joshua to the Israelites when he was well advanced in years. Before he was commissioned to lead the people of Israel to the promised land, he received a similar word from God; “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1: 7- 8).
Apparently, those words from the Lord really encouraged Joshua to be one of the great leaders of Israel. Now that God had fulfilled His word and settled them in the promise land, Joshua found the need to re-echoe to all Israel the secret to their success story. The younger generation had to know the covenant that had established Israel in the Land of Canaan before he (Joshua) passes on.
We believers also have been handed these ancient words. We have also experienced its “TRUTHS” in our own lives. We ought to “teach them to our children, talking about them when we sit at home and when we walk along the road, when we lie down and when we get up” (Deuteronomy 11: 19)
Whatever we have seen, learnt, received or heard from God; we must put to practice and then make them known to others. This generation and the next must know how wonderful our God is; for we, like Joshua, have tasted and seen His goodness.
The generation after us must know, so does the generation after them. The song about the greatness of our God must never end. Begin to pray now. Ask for the courage to tell others about the Lord. HE IS GOD, THAT’S WHO HE IS! Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/I38W3WEJV4M
