Salvation (2nd Statement)

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Salvation (2nd Statement)
Text: Luke 23:42-43

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise”. Amen

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.” (Heb.9: 27- 28)

We usually say that there is one thing that God cannot do; that is to praise Himself. But that is not a spiritual TRUTH. The truth is that God is all sufficient and does not require anything from creation to enhance or complete His “Godness”. He has praise and worship within HIMSELF, the entire Heavens is filled with His awe and glory. The opportunity to praise and worship is just a privilege He gives us so we can partake of His awesome presence. It is not a need in Him that we fulfill.

Hebrews 9: 27- 28 quoted above however, reveals 2 things that God will never do for mankind:

1. To resend His One and Only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die again for the sins of man. He has been sacrificed once and that sacrifice is COMPLETE.

2. To grant forgiveness to a dead person. This means that a man, as long as he has life, can receive forgiveness from God as many times as possible. This grace ceases immediately a person dies. Only judgment awaits the dead.

Jesus showed us this truth on the cross by His words of assurance to the thief by Him. The thief didn’t wait to die before seeking forgiveness and the kingdom of God, but did so while alive.

Let us seek the Lord while He may be found, not when we have no life. For there is no such chance after death. ‘Let the wicked forsake his ways and the evil man his thoughts, and turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him and freely pardon.’

Begin to pray for forgiveness now, ask Jesus into your heart and find you a place with the Lord in paradise, before death or rapture comes knocking at your door.
