Pray Through The Storm!

Topic : Pray Through The Storm!
Text: Jer 33: 1- 3

1 While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time: 2 “This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it —the LORD is His name: 3 ’Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ Amen

One day Jesus told His disciples; “until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” (Jh 16: 24). Sometimes we assume per our relationship with God, prayer is unnecessary. God should be aware of our predicament and on His own work out a rescue plan to bring us out. Why bother Him and ourselves with prayer?

Prophet Jeremiah is shut up in the court of a prison and yet the word of the Lord comes to Him twice saying; “thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; The Lord is His name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee…” (Jer 33: 2- 3a kjv).

Really? If the Lord God is all that which the above text says He is and Jeremiah remains dear to His heart, why won’t He just deliver the prophet from the prison courts one time? Why will He encourage Jeremiah to call on Him in the day of trouble, when He already knows Jeremiah is in a day of trouble?

Well the reason is that the sovereignty of God respects the sovereignty of man as the custodian of this physical world. He made us, gave us a WILL and then commanded that we take  dominion over the earth to subdue.

Based on this spiritual principle, God only works on our behalf when we have invited Him in and have submitted our will to His supreme Will. That is the place where we plead with Him to take control and have dominion over our circumstance. The same place where we acknowledge His supremacy and our insufficiency. In fact, the same very place where we lay aside all our pride and submit to His Will and Ways no matter what. That place is called PRAYER, exactly where our deliverance comes from.

So don’t shun prayer simply because your God is all-knowing (He knows about your problems) and all-powerful (He can bring you out in a second). These two factors together with your faith, work perfectly to bring you results in prayer; that place where you “lay you down” and let Him reign over every situation that troubles your mind.

Rise up therefore and begin to pray. Call upon the name of the Lord throughout your storm. Don’t stop, even if it feels like heaven has shut its ears to you. He will answer, yes, God promises to answer and show you GREAT and unsearchable things you do not know.

So pray, pray and pray. For your life, family, plans, ministry, nation etc; just pray without ceasing until all your desires are perfectly aligned with the very nature of Christ and your will totally submerged into His. That is the place where you receive; but not always exactly what you petition for, no, but what He knows to be best so that your joy is complete. Call upon the Lord now! He will answer. YES, JEHOVAH WILL ANSWER YOU!
