Text: 2 Chronicles 9: 5-6

5 She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. 6 But I did not believe what they said until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have far exceeded the report I heard. Amen

When the queen of Sheba heard of king Solomon’s fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with difficult questions. Arriving with a very great caravan—with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones— she came to Solomon and talked with him about all she had on her mind.

Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too difficult for him to explain to her. When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, AS WELL AS the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, the cupbearers in their robes and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the Lord, she was overwhelmed. She praised God for his wisdom and gave him a great quantity of gold and spices.

Beloved, all wisdom and knowledge acquired from God and from studies are best noticed when PUT TO GOOD USE. King Solomon’s wisdom was not only demonstrated when he counselled or solved puzzles for people. It also reflected in how he had built his palace and arranged all things in an orderly manner.

What is the use of a certificate if the scholar cannot demonstrate a great sense of responsibility in the way they speak, dress and generally conduct themselves?

Good presentation, body hygiene, organizational skills, prudence in speech and an ability to demonstrate a great sense of responsibility are expected to be the hallmark of those who have been instructed by God, and by the earthly teachers He places over us.

Always remember there is a great reward for excellence. It goes beyond what a certificate can offer. Begin to pray now. Ask for grace to put all your skills and gifts into excellent use to the glory of God.

Our Heavenly Father is very organized, decent, distinguished and excellent in all His ways. Why do we claim knowledge of Him yet act differently?
