Topic: Offer It All For His Use!
Tex: Exodus 4:2, 20
2 Then the LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. 20 So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt. And he took the staff of God in his hand. Amen
At Mount Horeb God called Moses and commissioned him to return to Egypt and deliver His people from slavery. Ordinary as Moses felt, he wondered how Pharoah was to take him serious. He was a fugitive!
Jehovah asked him, ” what is it you have in your hands?”. Being a sherperd, Moses had a staff. God didn’t require anything else to prove His greatness to Pharoah, just the same staff Moses held. From that day, that STAFF ceased to be Moses’ staff but the “Staff of God” (verse 20).
Beloved, it is natural to lay claim on all our earnings and possesions, after all, they are the result of our searchings, hardwork and labour. But watch this: before ascending to heaven, our Lord Jesus commissioned us to preach the good news to the ends of the world. He requires ALL WE ARE and HAVE to demonstrate His power and deliver those in bondage and sin.
Are you willing to offer your life as a living sacrifice? Are you ready to heed the Master’s Call? Is there a ‘YES LORD’ in your spirit for whatever plan He has for you? Will be at work for Jesus while He holds you by the hand? Will you fulfil the great commission?
If your answer remains ‘YES’ to any of the above then the Lord is asking you today, “What is it you have in your hands?”. It doesn’t have to be anything very special. Remember Moses never thought any special of his staff but by availing it to God, it became God’s working tool.
Our mighty God is able to manifest His greatness through everything we are and in anything we have. Our personalities, backgrounds, opportunities, inadequacies and even challenges are tools for His glory and purpose if we will let Him in.
There is no use withholding anything. The Lord keeps and improves all we are and have better than we could do for ourselves in a life time. The call to surrender everything to Jesus our Lord is a HIGHER CALLING. A great privilege also that the great God of the universe should finds in us, something, anything for His use, pleasure and glory.
Kindly reflect on all the above and begin to pray now. Offer your entirety as a living sacrifice for the Masters’ use. Not by “lip service” though, but to mean every bit of it. Your lifetime, body (which is His temple), time, money, properties and every other thing we can claim to be ours. God will magnify Himself in you that way and with everyday’s fellowship make your life more like His. All you are will be a witness to His love and draw souls to Him.
Both you and those He uses you to bless, will never be the same again! Moses offered his staff, what do you offer the Lord today?
