Topic: May God Help You Again!
Text: Habakkuk 3: 2
I have heard all about you, Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy. Amen
Each day that passes by presents God’s people with new experiences. Some of these experiences may be very welcoming and pleasant, while others may just put us in difficult, discouraging positions.
During the prophet Habakkuk’s days, sin and injustice had triumphed so much that it seemed that those who believed in God and served Him faithfully were wasting their time in doing so. The prophet raised complaints to his God a number of times, but each time, God made him know that in just a matter of time, His people would see that they had made a good choice in serving Him as God.
Beloved, truth is, there will never be a day in which we will not require God to show up and help us in circumstances of life. As each day’s challenges are presented before you, remember God’s help in previous times – how He came through for you and others in times past, and ask Him to provide help again.
Habakkuk prayed this way, and instantly his eyes were opened to see what God was doing in response to that prayer. He said, “I see God moving across the deserts from Edom, the Holy One coming from Mount Paran. His brilliant splendour fills the heavens, and the earth is filled with His praise.” (vs 3)
Begin to pray, therefore. Cast all your cares unto the Almighty God who asks you to do just that, and see Him come through for you. In the end, you shall say with Habakkuk that, “The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights” (vs 19). Hallelujah! Go forth and conquer as a child of God who has the backing of the King of Kings.
