Make Room Text: Luke 12:18 (22/10/2013)

18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. Amen

It is believed that about 60% of Ghanaians are farmers. Why then does the nation still import agricultural products, some even in their raw state. This is because of our failure to store up some of our produce especially during bumper harvest. We therefore consume whatever is produced and and the excess left to the mercy of the environment.

This wealthy man in the text above introduces us to the importance of expanding our storage facilities when the need arises. Expanding one’s storage facility simply means creating more room to save or absorb more than usual. For instance:

i. Students must take advantage of each spare time to absorb more knowledge, not just to pass exam, but for life. Those who do this will definately have some extra knowledge to fall on should there be an impromptu quiz. The others will be found wanting.

ii. Workers must work extra hard to earn and save more whiles they are strong. This will definately pay off during retirement.

iii. The Self employed and entrepreneur must not wait for the huge harvest before creating or expanding our stores. Make room for that small business by thinking big and taking practical steps to sustain such ideas when you begin to implement.

iv. Christians and church workers must be dedicated to prayer, fastings, bible studies, obedience, and charity. These virtues deepen our depths in God and make our walk with Him a blessing than burden.

v. We must all take practical steps to be a blessing to God and others around us. God is not pleased with people who selfishly hoard blessings.

Kindly note however that it is only when WE ACKNOWLEDGE GOD (as our source) in all our dealings that more blessings are added to us and the grace to sustain these blessings thereof. Submit your ways to the Almighty and He will direct your path.

Begin to pray now! make room to store up more blessings from God. This is your harvest season, your time to shine again!
