I want to know Christ— yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death Amen.
Apostle Paul wrote to the Philipian church and explained that if someone else thought they had reasons to put confidence in the flesh, well he had more, but whatever were gains to him, He now considers loss for the sake of Christ. He says in vrs 8 “What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing WORTH of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. WOW
As the Apostle Paul puts all physical attainments secondary to the WORTH of knowing Christ Jesus, here we are, very busily putting the privilege of knowing Christ secondary to our quest for physical achievements.
We easily sacrifice Him (Christ) for any other thing that make society applaud us. We can skip bible study, forget to pray and have our daily devotion without remorse. We always appear late for work or school. We want to act professional, we want to be punctual, we need that promotion, we want to attain the whole world. We will know CHRIST BETTER when we have some time to spare. “For now first things first. As For GOD, He Is ALWAYS THERE”, we say!
Yes, He is always there. all things were made through Him. Without Him nothing was made that has been made. He is still the rewarder of those who diligently seek him and all who know Him wax strong, and do exploits.
Each time you attempt to leave Christ behind to pursue physical accomplishments, do not forget you still depend on the breath He gives to live. You will need Him in the exam room, interview room, consultation room, operation room, boardroom, bedroom , even in the bathroom.
Why don’t you resolve to know Christ a little more closer and better today than you did yesterday. Counting all things loss to the worth Knowing Christ, doesn’t take a thing away from who you are. It rather brings meaning to all the accomplishments you will attain in life. For at the end of the day, Christ remains the life we seek to gain. Begin to pray now.
