In the course of time, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Gath and its surrounding villages from the control of the Philistines. Amen
Today’s world is governed by the word “FAST”. We have no time to waste so we have fast cars, fast planes, fast computers and even fast foods. It is as if the world in itself is in a big hurry to get somewhere.
God made David king over his people. One would have thought that it is only logical for David to have it easy rulling. However, reading the account of David shows that he didn’t get everything on a silver platter. God could have helped David destroy the Philistines in a blink but no, He didn’t. David had some more schooling to do.
You see, life has a way of dishing to us things we never asked for. The betrayal, the pain, the tension, the stress and the loss.
No one ever cusions him or herself well enough for all these uncertainties of life. There is one sure thing though! The pain has a purpose so do not throw it away. Be encouraged that tommorow will take care of its own problems.
Like David, God is with us as believers, if only we obey and do His will. With time, we shall overcome.
Have you ever wondered why you laugh over things that caused you pain some time back? It is because, over time, the pain has served its purpose.
Pray for the spirit of endurance as you get ready to face another day.
