Topic: It Is Appointed To Die Once!
Text: Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Amen

Death, is a topic many do not feel comfortable to talk about but the truth is, it is inevitable. A lot is known about death even though people shun away from discussing it, because it is a fact of life. However not much can be known of the ‘after death’, except what the bible emphatically spells out in Hebrews 9: 27. And that is – JUDGEMENT.

To start with, everyone dies. There is no order in which it occurs; the young and the old die. No one can take any property along just as no one can die in place of another person. The more incomprehensible part is that no one can experience a death rehearsal before the “actual” death.

On the other hand, no one knows when they die just as the place and method is unknown. So the question is, “what happens afterwards?”

The bible clearly says that after death comes judgment. Judgement involves a very impartial scrutinizing of one’s life on earth by our Holy God.

Daily we forget this ultimate ending. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and to lose his soul? (Mark 8:36).

Therefore, to those who do not have the Lord Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour, the best time to do so is now that you are alive and reading this message. Tomorrow belongs only to God. Death or rapture can occur at any hour or day.

Repent of your sins and ask the Lord to forgive you. Also believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the son of God and confess Him with your mouth. Ask Him to be Lord of your life from this day forth.

And to those who are already in the faith, ‘as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling’ (Phil. 2: 12).

Finally to the wicked world who care less about the grace of God which has appeared to offer salvation to all men (Titus 2: 11), well, rapture or death will surely come. There after, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.” (Eccl 3: 17). Where will you be without Christ? Who will be your advocate? What will be your plea? Think about it?

When you have a chance to salvation, don’t just stand or walk away. That opportunity ignored, might cost you eternity with the Lord.
