Take some time off this morning, you know we are still reflecting on the events of 2013 and preparing our minds for next year. Kindly meditate on the passage below. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you then begin to pray!
Text: Ps 116: 1- 9, 12- 14
1 I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. 2 Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
3 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of theLord: “Lord, save me!”
5 The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. 6 The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.
7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. 8 For you,Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, 9 that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
12 What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me? 13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
14 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people. Amen
MEDITATIVE HIGHLIGHTS (or things to ponder over)
i. David says I love the Lord, He heard my cry. So long as I live i will call on Him. (is this true about your life, can you say to your soul that as long as you live you belong to the Lord?)
ii. Did the cord of death entangle you this year? How? In the office, at school? when you slept, when you had that accident?
iii. Has the Lord delivered you from death, your eyes from tears and feet from stumbling that you may walk in the Land of the living?
iv. Then what should you give in return for all His goodness to you?
Seriously ponder over all the above and allow your spirit to be broken before the Lord.
Pray now, thank Him for this year, seek His face for next year, fulfil your vow in the presence of HIS PEOPLE! Arise… Lets go to church.
