Topic: He Will Ensure Your Safety And Success!
Text: 2 Samuel 23: 5
“Is it not my family God has chosen? Yes, He has made an everlasting covenant with me. His agreement is arranged and guaranteed in every detail. He will ensure my safety and success.” Amen
King David walked with the Lord till the end. Yes, it is true he made some mistakes here and there, but he was always quick to repent and come back to God for pardon and restoration.
One thing so unique about David was that he tried to understand, to a large extent, who God is so he could give God His due as Sovereign. He valued every act of God towards him especially the relation or covenant that they shared.
He knew he didn’t qualify to be king but was chosen to be, only by divine selection and grace. He didn’t take that for granted at all. He also knew that to seal the blessing of kingship placed on him and his descendants, God had to establish a special covenant with him (David) so that it becomes an eternal fact which will be binding forever.
David reminded God of the covenant between them each time his position as king was threatened. He taught his son Solomon to do same. That covenant was to ensure his safety and success as a “chosen” of the Lord.
Precious One, today, like many other days, may not meet us in high hopes at all. Many things that happened in the past days or even through the night are enough to demotivate us and make us question our confidence in facing the challenges that may be ahead of us.
However, like David, encourage yourself by remembering how special you are in the sight of God, and the many blessings in Him to take once you step out in faith to be who God has chosen you to be.
Claim it for yourself where the king (David) says; “Is it not my family God has chosen? Yes, He has made an everlasting covenant with me. His agreement is arranged and guaranteed in every detail. He will ensure my safety and success.”
Indeed you are chosen. Many are called but you and your family are chosen by God. Chosen for His purpose; chosen as His vessels of honour, chosen for signs and wonders, chosen for His glory and chosen to be in Christ for eternity.
God has an everlasting covenant with you also. Through the blood of Christ, His agreement to be your God is arranged and guaranteed in every detail. Every blessing and benefit concerning this special covenant is detailed in His Word as your reminder.
If only you will honour your part of the covenant by walking with Him in love and faithfulness, then HE (HIMSELF) WILL ENSURE YOUR SAFETY AND SUCCESS IN ALL THAT YOU DO. Rise up therefore, shake off all the laziness and excuses. There is so much excellence and success awaiting you in the day; settle for nothing less!
Pray commiting your life and the rest of the year into God’s hand. Humbly remind God of His covenant to ensure your safety and success; and watch Him go beyond your requests to give success to all other family members and dear ones who are close to your heart too.
