Topic: He Does Not Just Know The Way, He Is!
Text: Exodus 40: 36- 38
36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; 37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. 38 So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels. Amen
Life is a journey and we are all pilgrims. We wake up everyday to continue from where we stopped to rest yesterday.
While some of us, struggle to even understand why we are traveling in the first place, several others wonder where exactly we are going and what the way is.
Yet we are always in a hurry. Running and rushing towards where we do not know and for what, we can’t explain.
Moses and all Israel with him knew that God was not just their source, but the One who knew the way they were to go as well (basically because He is the way and the destination they were headed). Israel was not prepared to go anywhere the Lord was not leading. As a matter of fact, in all their travels, Israel refused to take a step, till God moved. That is remarkable.
Beloved, those of us in Christ Jesus have been blessed to understand the journey of life better. We know that we are created in the image of God for His purpose and pleasure here on earth below. Then when we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, we are born again to conform to the image of Christ. From then, we are to live for Him everyday till He appears and takes us with Him to glory. Just like a groom comes to take his bride with him to his own dwelling.
This world is neither our home nor destination for us to keep rushing ahead of life to gather so much of it and prove a point. For us, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
We should allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in all things and decisions. When He moves, then we move. When He leads, we follow. When He has not made a move, let us continue to wait on the Lord. For there’s a way that seems right before men but the end thereof is death.
Meditate on this word and begin to pray now. Why are you trying keep up pace with this world when 1 John 2: 17 clearly explains that; “the world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever”. Ask the Holy Spirit to grant you both knowledge of Himself and the patience to have Him lead you into all truth.
Allow the Lord to lead you beside the still waters and in His path of righteousness. There you will find rest, peace, clarity of mind, refreshings of the soul and renewal of strength for the journeys that are further ahead. He knows, and is, the way He taketh. Let’s learn to walk with Him.
