Today’s Devotion
Topic: Happy New year From Us
TEXT: 2 Thessalonians 3: 1
As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you. Amen
Wow, it is both exciting and humbling. By the grace of God, we have been ushered into another year effortlessly. Not by any special deed we did or how wonderful we are. Simply by the mercies of God and we don’t take that for granted at all.
Members of the Y- Outreach Network wishes you and all our cherished readers a happy and prosperous new year. Last year we promised that so long as God gives us the strength and inspiration, we will not fail to serve your favourite devotional, TODAY’S DEVOTION, and we did exactly that. We are still committed to that same course this year. As long as the Lord enables us, we will continue to serve you His word, both in print and digital form without fail.
All we seek is that you “pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you” (2 Thess 3: 1). You may also support us financially as serving the Lord in this capacity remains the full time occupation of some of us.
We strongly trust God’s blessings over the life of all who support us both physically and spiritually. With every life God touches and turns around through our devotions becoming the point of contact that unlocks the blessings of all who will partner us in this evangelistic mission.
There is no doubt this year will be greater than the previous. For “this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house (or year) with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘The glory of this present house (or year) will be greater than the glory of the former house (or year) ,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” (Hag 2: 6- 9).
Rejoice in the Lord therefore and work very hard to get more than a few. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters (Col 3: 23). When difficult times arise “do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions” (Eccl 7: 10). “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; (Ps 34: 19).
Begin to thank God that a great year has met you and your loved ones alive. Ask for the humility to know Him better this year. Now the benediction: “Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Ps 37: 3- 4). God bless us all.
