Topic: God’s Hidden Strategy
Text: Exodus 14: 19- 22
“19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, 20 coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.
21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. Amen
The Egyptian army has come too close for comfort. Moses cries out to God and the Lord instructs him to stretch his rod over the sea to divide it into two so the Israelites can walk through on dry land.
Unknown to all Israel, this PHYSICAL miracle God was about to perform was only a fragment of the actual deliverance strategy He (God) had stored up for His people.
Spiritually, the angel of God who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, serving as a spiritual barrier between the armies of Egypt and Israel.
Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the Egyptian side and light to the Israelites side; so the Egyptians could not advance any further as the Israelites passed through the Red Sea.
Beloved, do you now see why trusting God’s Word is important even if it doesn’t make logical sense. Mostly God will outline an excerpt of His plan and what He intends the outcome to be if we obey Him, but He doesn’t explain how He is going to achieve that. Honestly, He doesn’t have to- HE IS GOD. But even if He did, we cannot comprehend it anyway. His depth is deeper than our thoughts can understand.
He is supernatural and works in ways we cannot see. He always has a hidden strategy that disarms the devil and guarantees your victory. See, that night at the Red sea, He worked double. He fought human military intelligence and the forces of nature simultaneously.
As He blocked the Egyptians behind Israel from advancing and attacking them, He drove back the Sea in front of them with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. If even anyone could put up a resistance against Him, it would have only been at one end of the battle not both. Yet NONE could withstand His Great Power; not the currents of the sea nor the armies of Pharaoh.
Don’t be afraid that the enemy has come too close. In fact, ignore all his threats by faith through prayer. “No harm will overtake you; no disaster will come near your tent. For God will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone”. (Ps 91: 10- 12).
