Topic: God Orders Our Steps, But We Must Take Them!
Text: Psalm 37: 32
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way. Amen
A good man or woman is one who seeks to please the Lord in everything. They love God with all their hearts and love their neighbours just as they love themselves.
The Psalmist encourages all such people to get ready for greater heights with an unparalleled momentum that surpasses the speed of eagles. This is because God (Himself) orders their steps and delights in all things that concern them.
To say “God orders the steps of a good man” is to say those who love God have the full backing of Heaven in all they do if only it is in the will of God. The order (or mandate) is that they take decisions and steps that glorify God, and the Good Lord will establish them.
Be reminded however that God orders our steps but HE DOES NOT TAKE THOSE STEPS FOR US. It remains our duty to take these steps that lead to victories if we know from God’s Word what He wills for us. Remaining idle, and waiting on God to take steps He has already ordered for us will only result in disappointments and frustrations.
Therefore, in the coming year, encourage students to take their studies seriously. God orders a bright future for them but it begins with taking the necessary academic steps with determination, excellence and zeal.
Also, tell all who desire promotion at work to be faithful and serve diligently. God orders that they be “heads” and not “tails”. However, all successful “heads” must learn to take those necessary steps that leap them from being “tails” and qualifies them as “heads”.
Meditate on this word and begin to pray right now! Ask for a heart that loves God and loves all neighbours too. Again, ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify steps that are ordained for you in the coming year, and grant you grace to take them into destiny. Why should you miss out on such a blessing when you have a God who delights in all things that concern you?
