Glad to be in His Presence?

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Glad to be in His Presence?
Text: Psalm 122: 1 (KJV)

122 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Amen

The very things that gladden the heart of the modern man lately, will shock you. He literally runs onto the street everyday, chasing after every and any thing that promises to make him happy. In the end, he learns the hard way that the happiness the world gives is only temporary, presenting greater sorrow than was before the pursuit of happiness.

However, those who seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, have all other things being added to them to make their joy complete. They have no desire to chase after the world to be happy. They know their God as the ALL SUFFICIENT ONE! In Him, they find a virtue that’s much more desirable than happiness; and that is JOY!

No wonder the psalmist wrote that He was glad when they said unto Him, Let us go into the house of the Lord. He also wrote that “better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked” (Psalm 84: 3). Then He told God; ”You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand” (Psalm 16: 11).

What about you child of God? What gives you the most joy or happiness? Your spouse or relationship partner? Your career or academics? Alcohol or sex? Drugs or foods? Video games or the Internet? Sports or telenovelas? The presence of God or the presence of friends? Think about it.

The questions is, why don’t you make His presence your delight; so that His word can transform you while His countenance shines on all you do?

Begin to pray now, cancel all ungodly appointments that seek to steal the opportunity to be in the presence of God today. As you make your way to church, ask the Holy Ghost to prepare your heart to receive His word for salvation and transformation.

Expect the touch of God during the service. For wherever two or more shall gather in His name, there He is in their midst. Your joy can not be measured until you can agree and say with the Psalmist every Sunday morning that; “I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord”.

See you at church this first Sunday of this new month. God is blessing us all today in His presence. Click: https://youtu.be/_LFq-ZepNbw
