Finished! (6th Statement)

Topic: Finished! (6th Statement)
Text: John 19: 30

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “IT IS FINISHED!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Amen

The world from inception was formless, empty, and had darkness all over it surface (Gen. 1:2) and so God called for order. He spoke and light appeared. The light shined and darkness fled for God to create the perfect World. He then also created living and non-living things to inhabit the earth.

Later, He made man after His own likeness, man and woman. He blessed and said to them “be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it ” (i.e. have dominion over World) – Gen. 1:27-28. This was the Original Plan and purpose of God for mankind. That man is blessed and has dominion over the World.

The disobedience of man at Eden made him lose this divine right to Satan. The soul of man now became susceptible to disease, hunger, thirst, nakedness and eternal death. Sin ruled the world.

But God is faithful. Not only did He provide a temporal solution (Gen. 3:31), He personally dealt with sin and death by ascending the cross. He totally disarmed the devil and made a public spectacle of him at the cross.
He endured all manner of humiliation and died shamefully. By this He swallowed death in Victory. (1 Cor. 15: 55-57)

Knowing that everything has now been fulfilled, He said “It is finished”, and gave up His Spirit. He has completed every spiritual requirement there was to do to put God’s “Plan B” into force.

On the bloody cross that faithful day, Man was restored and reconciled back to God. Not all, but them that believed in His name and surrendered their lives to Him. They have been giving the RIGHT to become the children of God. Children born not of natural descent but born of God. (John 1: 13)

Romans 6: 14 confirms our victory over sin when it says “for sin shall not be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”
Begin thank God for the victory on the cross. Jesus has overcome the world for your sake.

Now here is a trustworthy saying: The ONE that purchased your redemption with His Blood, is the same that declares to you today “IT IS FINISHED”! Be made whole therefore, in Jesus name!
