Today’s Devotion
Topic: Faithful.
Text: Joshua 21: 43-45.
43 So the Lord gave Israel ALL the land He had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44 The Lord gave them REST on every side, just as He had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their Enemies withstood them; the Lord gave ALL their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one of ALL the Lord’s GOOD PROMISES to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. Amen
We serve a faithful God. Whatever He says, He does! He is not experimenting with your life, NO! He is very sure about each word has spoken about you. From generations HE is called EVER FAITHFUL, EVER TRUE. Let us prove His faithfulness towards us using the passage above as our case study.
i. HE GAVE ALL THE LAND: In verse 43, we learn that the Lord, being faithful, gave ALL the land he had earlier promised to the people of Israel. He went further to ensure they took possession of it and settled there.
ii. HE GAVE THEM REST ON EVERY SIDE: According to verse 44, the Lord gave them rest on every side just as He had promised to do.
iii: NOT ONE OF THEIR ENEMIES COULD WITHSTAND THEM: Verse 44b explains that the Lord handed all their enemies to them. None could ever withstand them.
iv. All promises fulfilled: According to verse 45, not one of ALL the Lord’s GOOD PROMISES to the house of Israel failed. EVERY ONE WAS FULFILLED.
Whenever you fill dejected and all sad because the year is almost ended and your promise never came to pass, put on your shield of faith and exclaim : “MY GOD IS FAITHFUL, HE WILL COME THROUGH FOR ME”!
Begin to pray now, pray that not one of God’s promises concerning your life will fail! Ask for grace to trust Him no matter what, ask for the ability to possess and settle in these blessings that the Lord is bringing your way. Also, humbly ask that as He brings them, He will give you rest on every side. Pray that Lord makes you strong so the enemy does not destroy your faith. HAVING DONE ALL THESE THINGS, SIMPLE STAND IN THE PROMISES OF GOD… HE IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD.
