Topic: Facing The Obstacles of Each Day, Head On!
Text: 2 Samuel 22: 32- 35
32 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?
33 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. 34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights. 35 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. Amen
A new working week can present anything at all, at any time. We can never fully predict what is coming in order to adequately prepare for it. Yet still, we are not afraid of what may come. Not because we lack judgement to know that what can come may be more than we can bear. But rather, because we have God on our side and believe absolutely in His Word.
It is He who really matters in every situation. Strong things are never too strong for Him, neither the difficult. All powers submit to His authority, even the elements too. He stops the rain with the sound of His voice and makes it rain by the click of His finger. The sun cannot stand the radiance of His countenance, neither can the waters quench His blaze. All of hell accord Him the utmost respect, trembling at His Word and obeying Him without the least resistance.
We love Him, but honestly, it is He who loved us first and gave Himself a ransom for our sins. He came to His own, but His own received Him not. “Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the POWER to become children of God” (John 1: 12). And then commissioned them saying, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you” (Luke 10: 19). He also said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Mat 18:18)
So you see, our confidence is not in ourselves, neither do we have any power of our own. It is the Lord who arms us with strength and keeps our way secure. He makes our feet like the feet of a deer; and causes us to stand on heights that the great eagle does not dare. Through the study of His Word and constant fellowship with His Holy Spirit, He trains our hands for battle; so that these feeble arms can bend a bow of bronze.
Therefore, tell it to the north and south; let the east and west also understand that we do not step out in our own strength, but in the name of the Lord Almighty. No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against us in judgement we shall condemn. “This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me”, saith the Lord. (Is 54: 17)
Begin to pray therefore and take authority over every day that comes within this week. Destroy the works of the enemy and ask for wisdom, strength and joy from above to execute your duties. This will be a wonderful week because we are beginning it right with the full conciousness of who we are in Christ Jesus.
For this reason, “Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together” (Is 40: 4- 5a). They will give glory to God for your sake.
