Evil Exists, But Can Never Prevail!

Topic: Evil Exists, But Can Never Prevail!
Text: Matthew 6: 13b

“…deliver us from the evil one.” Amen

We may argue all day and it will still not change the fact that, there is evil in this world. A negative force that seeks to kill, steal and destroy. One who is roaring like a lion seeking whom to devour. One who conspires against the sons of righteousness day and night, seeking to empty heaven and populate hell. There is evil in the world.

There was a day that “…. war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” (Rev 12: 7-9).

This implies that so long as we remain here on earth, the church of Christ will be confronted by evil every now and then. But Jesus says “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16: 33).

Apostle Paul testified to this when he wrote to the church in Corinth saying “8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us (2 Cor. 1: 8- 10).

Beloved, evil may be at its best, but can never prevail against the army of the Lord. For “you, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4: 4). Begin to pray now, don’t allow evil anywhere near your life.

You are more than a conqueror through Christ. Lift up prayers and intercession for all saints as well. Call on the name of the Lord, destroy the works of evil projected against the people of God. IT WILL NOT STAND IN JESUS NAME!
