Topic: Even Lions Grow Weak!
Text: Psalm 34:10
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Amen
The Lion has not been called the king of the jungle for nothing. It is a very strong and wild animal who does not spare its prey. Most of their hunting expeditions take place in groups often led by the lioness. Once they set their target on a prey, only God can help it. They have the tenacity to outrun it and are strong enough to kill it for meat. However, sometimes this great animal becomes as weak and hungry as any other animal can be. Such is life.
Just when life seems to be going on smoothly, with many great opportunities coming our way, we begin to take many things for granted. We do whatever we like with the power gained through our achievements and thing of ourselves as unsinkable, unstoppable and immovable. We are the kings (Lions) of our own “jungle”.
But even with that, we begin to desire more and more with time and never get satisfied until some storm hits us so strong to remind us that just like the lion, we are not above growing weak and vulnerable. We need the Lord.
As a matter of fact, everybody needs the Lord. For we (humans) are never satisfied. It appears we will always be hungry and thirsty for more and more just like a strong young lion which never ceases to catch any prey it sets its eyes on.
Only God can fill and make us complete provided we seek Him day and night without ceasing by earnest prayer and studying of His Word. Those who seek the Lord always discover two things:
i. That they automatically have everything they need. Why? Because He is all that we truly need in life. He is the “SUPER- EXTRA” that makes each life fulfilled and satisfied.
ii. That they never lack anything good. Actually, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1: 17).
He knows our every need and always give to us when we ask according to His will.
There is nothing more satisfying and refreshing than having an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. Begin to pray therefore. Ask the Lord to help you desire more of Him and not the world. This world has nothing to offer but troubles. Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on him while He is near” (Is 55: 6). Those who do lack nothing good. Is your life full of “good”?
