Topic: Do It With God!
Text: Nehemiah 6: 15- 16
15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days.16 When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God. Amen.
Dedication to hard-work is a wonderful virtue that guarantees great success when conditions are right. But who is it that controls all these conditions that ought to be right? God is!
Man loves to be seen and known as one who is in charge of his own affairs and responsible for his own successes. However, he will never hesitate to blame others when he fails. But who doesn’t know that to fail or to succeed depends on one’s ability to trust God and not his or her own?
Nehemiah’s attempt to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem was met with serious opposition, both within and without. When the wall was completed, all who opposed them before became terrified. In fact, with the manner in which Nehemiah and his team survived all the evil emitted against them and still completed the wall; they just knew that God was with them.
It is good to desire great achievements and actually work towards realising them. But, why don’t you add God to all you do and say? Why won’t you rather decrease so He might increase in you?
He works impossible things into great possibilities. His wisdom is higher, His word is true, His ingenuity is excellent, His power is strong, His love is deep, and His commitment, unfailing!
Before you start, add Jesus! Be careful to end with Him too. He will perfect your efforts with His excellence. Even your enemies will know that you have succeeded with the help of the Lord.
Rise up and begin to pray. Are you not going too fast? Why are you rushing with ideas and decisions like you have the power to ensure their implementation and success? Halt, say a prayer! Let God lead the way instead. He has never failed anyone yet!
