Topic: Sin
Text: Ps 32: 1
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Amen
Jesus’s primary aim on earth was to reconcile us to back to God and to restore man to his orginal place as was ordained by God during creation.
To achieve this, Jesus had to atone for our sins through the sacrifice of His precious blood. This was necessary because of 4 main factors:
i. Sin is the main factor that seperates us from God.
ii. Apart from bringing seperation between man and His Creator, sin also plagues the soul. It destroys the protective covering of the Lord around us, allowing for demonic influence and torment.
iii. We pay for the physical consequences of our sins. Some of these consequences can affect a whole generation. For instance God destroyed the entire world except for Noah, His household and due sin.
iv. The ultimate price we pay for sinning is very high. That ultimate wage is death (permanent seperation from God, in this life or the life after).
What then shall we say to the Lord that is merciful enough to sacrifice His blood for the atonement of ALL our guilt and shame?
Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He will forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Why should you die in your sins?
Repent now, seek the forgiveness of the savior, ask for the strength to live for him everyday, Go and sin no more!
Blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven him. (Y-Outreach Network)
