Text: 2 Kings 5: 20
Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself, “My master was too easy on Naaman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him. Amen
Naaman was insolent when Elisha wouldn’t come out to meet him. His comments proved that He was a proud man. However after heading to advice, he agreed to dip himself 7 times in the Jordan and was healed.
Prophet Elisha would rather have nothing to do with the gifts Naaman offered. Gehazi, his servant however took serious offence in that. He run after Naaman in the name of the prophet, collected the gifts and hid them. He then returned to the prophet and swore he had gone no where.
Sometimes its not all that is offered us in life that are from God, or, good for us. When we are greedy and selfish, we automatically become this honest too. Cutting corners here and there for all the richies in the world. Some christians by this have become thieves, liars, sakawa, fraudster, sex traders, gumblers ect.
Allow God to lead you in His path of righteousness, all these other things will be added unto. When Gehazi went for Naaman’s gifts, he never knew he was receive naaman’s curse too. Naaman went away a healed man, Gehazi went away with Naaman’s curse and possesions that can’t give him a cure. Meditate on this (Y-Outreach Network)
