Today’s Devotion
Topic: Come; Now Is The Time To Worship!
Text: Phil 2: 9- 11
9 Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen
If anyone is said to be exalted to the HIGHEST PLACE and given a name ABOVE EVERY NAME, then it means beyond this person there can be none other, right? He becomes the MOST HIGH, worthy of glory: And that is who Jesus is!
By the shedding of His precious blood for the atonement of our sins, He has single-handedly paid the highest debt there is to pay to reconcile us back to God.
“… being in very nature God, He did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!” (Phil 2: 6-8)
This is why He is exalted and given a name above every name. At the mention of His name, EVERY KNEE IN HEAVEN, AND ON EARTH AND UNDER THE EARTH; MUST BOW WITHOUT EXCUSE!
This includes all kings and princes, demons and powers, worries and pains, sicknesses and diseases, addictions and frustrations. In fact, everything anywhere, that has A KNEE and (or) A NAME, MUST BOW! And every tongue there is must acknowledge that Jesus is Lord.
Come on in; enter the throne room. Do not let anyone or anything hinder your worship today. Not even this situation that has weighed you down all this while. As a matter of fact, all your problems must give way right now to the power that is in the name of Jesus! For the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed over all darkness and now stands on top and above all, to set us free.
Therefore lift up your voice in worship right now, and let it come from deep within your heart. Exalt His Holy name for the cross of calvary and the redemption of your soul. Offer Him more than a song; offer Him your heart; offer Him this moment; offer Him your love, and watch every terror against your life give way to the wonderful ambience of His presence; THAT BEAUTIFUL PLACE WHERE IT’S NOT YOU ANYMORE, BUT THE CHRIST WHO LIVES IN YOU!
Rise up and start preparing for service. This is the first Sunday of the second half of the year. We still owe Christ some gratitude. No more excuses, see you at church!
