Topic: Choices
Text: 1 Corinthians 10:23 (NIV)
“I have the right to do anything,” you say, but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”, but not everything is constructive.
Choice is the act of picking or deciding between two or more possibilities. In other words, it is the free will given to man to do as he deems fit. When God created man kind in Genesis 1:27, every attribute God had, including “WILL” He gave to man.
Free will becomes such that we are not forced into making decisions. Rather every action taken is as a result of our own desires. Because this will can not be imposed, our Lord Jesus Himself acknowledges this fact and rather beckons us to be saved saying; Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. – Revelation 3:20.
This means that our ability to be saved and remain saved largely depends on the choices we make daily; the choice to repent of sin and accept the Lord Jesus as Lord and personal Savoir or to remain in sin and face eternal condemination, the choice to pray or not to, the choice to read God’s word and keep His commandments or not to, the choice to fellowship or not, and the likes.
The bible says in Romans 2:6 that God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”; thus emphasizing the importance of the choices we make daily. As another day begins, begin to pray and ask God to influence your decisions that will help you in your walk with God.
