Today’s Devotion
Topic: Child-Like Leadership
Self Assessment
Background: Our generation has read the largest collection of books on leadership and its related disciplines. We have likewise been blessed with many speakers on the subject of leadership. Today however, we choose to study on a rare dimension of this subject. Once upon a time, God was not happy with the people of Israel and had decided to punish them. (Isaiah 2:5-11)
Unlike the style of leaving them at the mercy of their enemies, He chose to take away the hero and the warrior, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counsellor, the skilled craftsman and the clever enchanter. In place of them, He made children their rulers.
We therefore like to study on child-like leadership and how it affects us as individuals and any organization or nation.
Text: Isaiah 3:1-4
1 See now, the Lord, the LORD Almighty, is about to take from Jerusalem and Judah both supply and support: all supplies of food and all supplies of water, 2 the hero and the warrior, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, 3 the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counsellor, skilled craftsman and clever enchanter. 4 “I will make mere youths their officials; children will rule over them.” Amen.

b) the judge and the prophet,

iv. God decided to ‘wipe out’ an entire system of leadership ( the hero and the warrior, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counsellor, skilled craftsman and clever enchanter). What does this tell you about God’s concern for righteousness and justice in the land?
