Changing Your Trials Into Triumph (Part 1)

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Changing Your Trials Into Triumph (Part 1)
Text: James 1: 2

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds. Amen

Today we begin a two-day series on the subject matter. Trials and temptations are necessary but difficult for every believer. With the right attitude and by the help of the Holy Ghost, we are able to turn these valleys of baca or challenging times into springs of water (Psalm 84: 6). This way, all that was meant for our downfall rather become a stepping stone to divine altitudes.

We will have a general discussion about trials today and then discuss how we can practically turn these tough moments into triumphs – tomorrow. Come along Precious One:

Perhaps you have seen the bumper sticker: “When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade!” The Epistle of James tells us that we can have this same experience today! Whether we are dealing with trials on the outside or temptations on the inside.- Through faith in God and Jesus Christ we CAN experience victory!

Take note that Apostle James assumes that every Christian will fall into trials. He doesn’t say “if you fall into temptation” but instead, he says “when you fall…”. This is because Christians must expect trials (see.. John 16: 33 & Acts 14: 22).

Certain trials such as sicknesses, disappointments, accidents and death come simply because we are human. Other trials come because we are Christians (2 Timothy 3: 12). Honestly, so far as Satan fights us, and the world opposes us, we should expect trials! But we must “COUNT IT ALL JOY!”

We “count it joy” because … we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son… Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8: 28- 31, KJV)

Meditate on these and pray for all believers, especially those who are facing challenges on every side. Also pray for yourself, so you may receive strength from above in your time of tribulation. Learn to lay all your burdens down for THE JOY OF THE LORD!

We shall continue tomorrow.
