Blessed Beyond Every Curse (Part 2)

Today’s Devotion
Topic: Blessed Beyond Every Curse (Part 2)
Text: Numbers 23: 21

“No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. The Lord their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them. Amen

The second oracle of Balaam continues. Even though this seer is really going to incur the wrath of Balak, what he says is true. He didn’t see any misfortune among the people of God. Neither did he see any misery.

Beloved, as we continue our 14-day prayer and fasting today, please note that the challenges you encounter in your life are not to be seen as misfortunes but tests that are intended to make you strong.

How can a life be in misery wherein Christ dwells? How can we deem your blessed and sanctified life a misfortune simply because you’re going through trials? The storms may roll but your peace cannot be lost with it because Christ is your anchor.

Balaam said this to Balak concerning Israel: “22 God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox. 23 There is no divination against Jacob, no evil omens against Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and of Israel, ‘See what God has done!’ 24 The people rise like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion that does not rest till it devours its prey and drinks the blood of its victims.” Halleluyah

Do you see how powerful we are in Christ? Don’t let your trials bring you down. There’s no divination, enchantment or witchcraft activity that can prevail against Israel. The Lord wills it so- who can change that?

Balak is now tired of hearing blessings instead of curses. He says to Balaam, “Neither curse them at all nor bless them at all!” Balaam answered, “Did I not tell you I must do whatever the Lord says?” (Numbers 23: 25- 26)

Precious One, begin to pray and subdue all your unfortunate circumstances to the obedience of Christ. Reject anything contrary to the blessings of the Lord in your life. Shake of the “faithlessness” and put on the armour of Christ. Your present suffering cannot compare with the glory ahead. YOU ARE BLESSED BEYOND EVERY CURSE!

The prayer and fast is on tomorrow too.
