Topic: Benefits Of Honest Service
Text: Luke 16: 10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Amen
Certain principles are so direct and practical that they require no further clarifications for perfect understanding. The text for today is no different.
Everyone is eager to make stewards of those who are faithful, diligent and trustworthy. The more convinced we get that these stewards are honest, the more we willingly increase their domain.
But if they are dishonest with little, try them with much and see if they wouldn’t be as dishonest as they were with little, or even worse.
Beloved, what is the ‘little’ that God has blessed you with? Be very honest with it. Be hard working, punctual, and dedicated. Allow no room for cutting corners and laziness.
The God who has entrusted this ‘little’ to you is waiting and more than willing to promote you to a place of higher honour and responsibility if you will be diligent and honest wherever you are.
Why don’t you challenge yourself unto greater works today? Especially since your service and labour is not unto man but God. As for man, he may never know more than you fill him in regarding your stewardship and the motives behind your actions. But God does! He sees all you do even in secret and rewards you accordingly.
Meditate on this word therefore and begin to pray. Today begins another working week. Ask God for wisdom, strength, provision and skill to excellently manage the ‘little’ He’s entrusted to you. Including your ‘little’ family, finances, ‘small-small’ learning, career, ministry, and life (as a whole).
For the God who sees all things and evaluates your life regarding the ‘little’ that has been entrusted in your care, is the One to bring the much needed increase and expansion you desire.
Go beyond being mediocre, give your all to every ‘little’ or ‘much’ He’s assigned your way. Never be complacent because there is much more in stock for those who will be honest and diligent. Are you one of those?
