Today’s Devotion
Topic: Believe What The Lord Has Said! (Christmas Series, Final Part)
Text: Matthew 1:22- 23
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will be with a child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”–which means, “God with us.” Amen.
We begin each year with dreams, aspirations and resolutions with the hope of achieving our intended goals before the year ends. Some of these resolutions are direct messages from God, either through the reading of His Word or through His prophets.
As the year draws to a close, we begin to write off all the unachieved goals or fast-forward them into the coming year. It gets worse when we tend to blame others for our inability to achieve our set goals.
However, the truth be told, every believer must receive all of God’s promises by faith. Calling those things that are hoped for as though they were. We must live by faith and not by sight. You see, the prophesy of the coming of the Mesaiah had been promised many years ago by Isaiah before its fulfillment.
Beloved, do not give up so easily on your unachieved dreams set for the year. Even though it tarries, it shall surely come to pass. Only believe, do your part and commit the rest to God. Faithful is He who has promised and He will surely do it. He can turn your story around before a second passes by.
So the year may be ending but hope (in Jesus Christ) is not ended. Begin to pray now. Ask God to increase your faith in Him even as you await His promises.
