In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Each one of us has at one point in time given God a deadline regarding something we want from Him. Admit it or not, not many have perfected the art of hearing from God.
Most times, our actions after rendering prayer requests show just how impatient we are at waiting on God for the very things we ask Him.
Because of the anxieties of life, many feel God does not answer prayers and even when He does, it takes forever. But Job asks a revealing question and answers that on our behalf.
“Why do you complain to him that he answers none of man’s words? For God does speak–now one way, now another–though man may not perceive it.”(Job 33:13-14)
So Yes! God speaks one way or the other. It is not always audible. Prov. 3: 5- 6 teaches us four(4) very practical steps we can take to constantly remain in the WILL of God for our lives even if we have not developed the art of hearing Him audibly:
i. To trust in the Lord with all our hearts: This is where we make God the center of our lives and decision making because we know He is more than able to do exceedingly more than we can imagine.
ii. Lean not on your own understanding: We must realise our limitations in knowledge and wisdom. It doesn’t matter our status and position in life, we don’t know it all. He is Omniscient!
iii. In all our ways we must acknowledge God: This is where we pray about everything and everyone that surrounds us. After prayers, we must be careful to live by His WORD! God will always honor His word!
iv. God will direct your path: He actually orders our circumstances (our paths) to be layed out properly before us. The circumstances may be good or bad, but all things will work together for our good.
Begin to pray now: place your life in His hands, and let the Lord have His way. Pray with the hymn: Captain of Israel’s Host and guide of all who seek the land above.
