Topic: Are There Any Righteous?
Text: Genesis 6:12 (NIV)
God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. Amen
The uncontrollable desires of man to acquire excessive earthly possessions, as well as achieve self actualization at all costs, tempt us to sin without remorse.
The Lord looks down from heaven to see if there is anyone who understands and seeks Him, but all have turned aside and together have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one. (Psalm 14:2-3)
Precious one, the dominance of sin in our world today makes us question if there is anyone who is righteous? Yes! There are, and they are many. Just as God told Elijah that He has preserved several other prophets for himself. So, there are some men whose knees have neither bowed down to Baal nor kissed him.
All who receive the Lord Jesus as personal Saviour are translated from darkness to God’s marvelous light. They are then justified by God, through faith and sanctified by the blood of the lamb. They become a chosen generation, a holy nation and God’s own special people.
This righteousness we are talking about is not due to our works, lest anyone should boast. It is a gift from God. God knows sin will make us fall short of His glory, that’s why He’s given us His word to guide us. David told God; “your Word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you”.
He has also made provision in case we sin, that we have a High Priest (Jesus) who intercedes for us. He forgives us our sins and retores us back to the righteousness of God.
Brethren, let us remember that our own righteousness is like a filthy rag before God. We can’t rely on our own abilities anymore. Begin to desire this gift of righteousnes. Ask God for grace to be more like Him. Pray now! Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/RcORffWmuhM
