His Riches; Not Yours!

Topic: His Riches; Not Yours!
Text: Philippians 4:19 (AMP)

And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Amen

Whenever anyone promises to do something for another, the guarantee that the promise would be fulfilled lies heavily on whether the one who made the promise (promisor) has enough resources to do exactly what he promised. It has nothing to do with what the person who was promised (promisee) has.

Truth be told, each of us has a need or two, or even more. Some of us would gladly discuss our needs with whoever we find at a particular time (whether friend or stranger); wherever we find ourselves (home, school, market place, in a bus etc). Others would rather keep their needs to themselves than tell anyone about them.

Interestingly, our lives as Christians are backed with many heavy promises made by the very Author and Finisher of our faith. The Bible – God’s Word unto us – lays out a lot of mouth-watering promises from Him to us. We read these words alright. At times, we even receive prophetic words from men and women of God. But many times we find ourselves asking how, when, and where exactly they would come to pass in our lives. Question upon question; then we end up doubting God.

In today’s scripture, Paul reveals something rather stunning. In his closing remarks to the church at Philippi, he assures them that his God shall supply ALL their needs. He knew that they had the tendency of asking how this could be, since their resources were far from being able to meet ALL their needs. Paul quickly pointed out that God would meet ALL their needs according to what He has in His “account”. It had nothing to do with whether they had enough or not.

Beloved, do you have needs? Have you trusted Jesus, the Son of the living God, as your Lord and Saviour? Do you believe that He created the entire universe and everything in it? Then relax! “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6&7)

It is simply impossible for the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe to ever run out of resources. He is able to do “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you; to take total care of you. Take Him at His word; you require FAITH in receiving all He has in store for you.

Begin to pray. Ask God to help you see your circumstances as He sees them; to take your eyes off your limited resources and unto His bounty; to trust Him with all your being. You shall come back with a testimony! See you at church. Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/BMqUg26JzXE
