Topic: Don’t Neglect Your Duty!
Text: Ezekiel 33: 6
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood. Amen
One of the important duties of Christians apart from working out our own salvation with fear and trembling, is making conscious efforts to win nonbelievers for Christ.
The other day, the Lord admonished Ezekiel saying; “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for[a] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.” (Ezekiel 33:7-9)
Also, in Matthew 28 :19 -20, we see our Lord Jesus also admonishing us to “…. go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”.
This is a charge we must keep. Not just to glorify our God in all that we do but also to save the never dying soul and fit it for the sky. You see, souls are parting to eternity; souls are parting as we speak today but how many really will die in Christ? How many will live again with Him as their eternal light?
As you draw up your schedule for another day, do well to include personal evangelism on your list and make time for it without excuse. You already know that “the fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11: 30).
Meditate on this word and begin to pray for yourself. Ask for the courage to witness to all. Also identify the nonbelievers and backslidden believers around you that you will like to talk to. Pray that He prepares their hearts for your message. So that this gospel you share, falls on fertile soil for a bounty harvest.
Remember, the harvest is plentiful, the fields are white, but the labourers are few (Luke 10: 2). Will you join the few who harvest these white fields for our Lord? Will you be spent for the sake of Christ? Will you bring joy to heaven over a sinner you lead to our Lord and Master Jesus for salvation?
Your answer, should be: YES, LORD YES! Holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ you will have a reason to glory, because you did not run in vain nor toil in vain (Philippians 2: 16). Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/1JwVmrLkhcw
