Little Is Much With God!

Text: 2 Kings 4: 2b

“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a little oil.” Amen

One day, the wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”

Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a little oil.”

Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbours for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”

She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.” (2 Kings 4: 1-7).

Sometimes in life, we look outside for help and feel miserable for getting none, when as a matter of fact the solution to our problems may be in something just within us, or close by. Only that we despise it or see it as insignificant.

You remember how Moses didn’t see another use for his Staff till God showed him. And how the disciples didn’t find the use of 5 loaves and 2 fishes in feeding 5,000 men till after Jesus offered it to God through thanksgiving?

What about Gideon who actually saw HIS OWN LIFE as insignificant and unworthy of all things that the angel of the Lord was commissioning him to do? Yes, it’s like that with mankind. It’s always been a challenge for us to see potential in “little” so we often brush them off as insignificant?

HOWEVER, LITTLE MAY TRULY BE INSIGNIFICANT, BUT NOT WITH GOD. How He converts a simple seed into a mighty tree that bears fruits with many more seeds than we obviously planted, is still a mystery. This widow had nothing except a little jar of olive oil. And that was all God needed to deliver her household from poverty, slavery and shame.

When it comes to overcoming your challenges in life, forget about what you don’t have. Rather, offer your all to the Lord, yes what you call “little and insignificant.” Offer all to God and ask Him to do what seems best with you.

A wonderful change will come all over you. That which you called “little” will begin to multiply and increase by divine acceleration, to bless your life until you are filled beyond measure. Why must anyone underestimate God? HE NEVER WORKS BELOW EXPECTATION. HE IS THE ALMIGHTY!

Begin to pray now. Offer every “little” in your life back to God. Pray with the chorus “You Are My Strength When I Am Weak!”. Believe God to exalt Himself in your “little” and an overflow is inevitable. He is the “TOO MUCH GOD”, EVEN WITH LITTLE. Click: https://youtu.be/C7awua3x2uc
