Today’s Devotion
Topic: Rock-Solid Faithfulness
Text: Deuteronomy 32: 4
He is a rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He. AMEN
A young man desperately wanted to travel overseas to better his lots. He did his best to falsify some travelling documents, fasted and prayed, vowed an offering to God, and even submitted his documents in faith. But well, he was refused the visa. Why did God do this to me? He questioned.
The truth is, God’s character is as solid as a rock. He has never and will never act unjustly or unfairly. Everything He does is perfect. Having no wrong motives and with no faults at all.
More often than not, the things we blame God for (especially when we do not get our way with things), are the consequences of 2 basic facts. Either:
i. We fail to recognise that God will always establish His utmost sovereignty in every matter. Or
ii. We pretend not to know that He is faithful to His WORD only. He never goes beyond His WORD to do more or less. Through the WORD all things were made; without it, nothing was made, that has been made (John 1: 3).
You see, sometimes we want Him (God) to bend the rules in our favour, even when we are aware our decisions are not resting on the right principles. He is a ROCK and can not be manipulated. His works are perfect and His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.
As we start a new week today, let us all from now make the effort to conform our desires to His will and seek to do that which please Him. No more cutting corners or engaging in unjust deals.
