Freed To Worship

Today’s Devotion
Topic. Freed To Worship
Text: Exodus 8: 1

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. Amen.

To live in captivity is such an uncomfortable state that everybody would wish they never had to experience. Why? Because your freedom is taken away from you; your freedom to speak, walk beyond boundaries, form association, and many more.

To many workers, the very jobs they get paid for also hold them captives, in that they cannot have time for any other thing. To some others their marriages hold them captives, in that their spouses control them such that they cannot just have time for any private affairs.

The truth is, God would not deliver us from the hands of the devil just to let us go our own way. When God sent Moses to Pharaoh, He had a purpose for saying “let my people go”. The purpose was to draw Israel closer to Himself, so they may serve Him.

God desires to be with us always and is looking for every opportunity to liberate us from the very things that serve as stumbling blocks between us and Him; the sins that easily entangle us, the jobs that require that we always forgo church service, the relationships that make us compromise our Christian values etc.

From this day, make it your ultimate goal to serve the Lord and worship Him only. Do not be like the Israelites who forgot all that the Lord had done for them and went ahead to make idols for themselves. If the Lord has given you a great husband or beautiful wife, know that you were liberated from singleness that you may serve Him. If He has given you a job that pays well, know that He freed you from joblessness that you may serve Him. If you were on the sick bed and now you are healed, know that God healed you that you may serve Him.

If God so cherishes our service, then, beloved, begin to count your blessings; name the many negative things He liberated you from and make a covenant to serve Him only. All He requires is your worship and service. Your service would mean availing yourself to be used by Him for winning souls and impacting lives positively.

Begin to pray now! Give Him your all in ADORATION. Give your all in praise. Give your all to His service. Dance to the Lord. https://youtu.be/BYqdcDMaoqY
