The Simple Benefits of Worship

Today’s Devotion
Topic: The Simple Benefits of Worship
Text: Exodus 23:25

“Worship the Lord your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.” Amen.

We worship God for who He is and not simply for what He has done. It is an entire lifestyle of absolute reverence to God, and should not be reduced to what we do as ADORATION during Christian gatherings.

While ADORATION remains that set aside period during our services or in the course of our day, where we sing a few songs and (or) say a few words to exalt the Lord and to remind ourselves of His greatness, Worship is an entire lifetime of reverence to God which must be seen in how we walk, talk and have our being. ADORATION therefore is a subset of worship and not it’s substitute.

Worship, like the principle of giving, provides an opportunity for us to bless God with all we are so that His unlimited blessings are also seen in us. It must be unconditional to demonstrate our love and total surrender to Him.

Therefore, when things are not going on well in your life, in spite of all your service to God and mankind, you just continue in the Worship! When you have done all you can to change your circumstance but to no avail, just Worship.

It’s a mystery! The simple answer to all our worries lies in our attitude towards worship. If only we could see and recognize God’s hand in our every situation, we would know that indeed worship works!

It opens so many locked doors in a manner we may not have noticed and brings down God’s presence over everything we do; even the food we eat and water we drink.

Therefore, the next time you feel like complaining about your life, simply submit to God and offer Him true and meaningful worship. A lifetime reverence for who He is and watch Him fight all your battles into victory in Jesus name. Your life will never be the same.
