Today’s Devotion
Topic: The Other Side Of The Coin!
Text: Luke 1: 74- 75 NLT
74 We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear, 75 in holiness and righteousness for as long as we live. Amen.
The promises of God are forever true. His handiwork stands throughout the ages. Indeed, nothing in all creation can be compared to His greatness and power.
One of His excellent handiwork is our rescue from the hands of the enemy. How His mighty power reaches out to deliver us everyday from evil, is still very remarkable in our lives.
So what then do we do? What is the reason for our salvation and deliverance? The answer is simple, we are delivered “so we can serve God without fear, in holiness and righteousness for as long as we live. ”
Beloved, this is the other side of the coin. Our commitment, devotion and decision to serve God in holiness is what makes the rescue mission complete.
Honestly, we cannot claim to have been delivered by God unless our lives after that rescue mission glorifies Him. If not, then what else will be the evidence of our salvation; that we were delivered from the enemy, back into darkness? Certainly Not!
1 Peter 2: 9 says, we are delivered to proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light. So tell all who have been delivered from the parlour of the devil, especially those with a decision to walk with the Lord the rest of their lives, that, it is time to STAND FOR HOLINESS.
Encourage them to understand that our righteousness is not of our own. The Holy Spirit leads us in the path of righteousness for His own name sake. He gives strength in our weaknesses and the desire to be more like Christ. He will live His righteousness through us if we let Him in.
We are children of the Light. We have a duty to shine before men, so they see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. Meditate on this and begin to pray now.
It’s another Sunday. With this zeal and determination to honor God and please Him in everything, backed by the Holy Spirit, who clothes us daily with strength, let’s all meet in church. Together, we will reaffirm our desire to live for him, in all holiness. See you at church!
