In Extra Time?

Today’s Devotion
Topic: In Extra Time?
Text: Matthew 24: 14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Amen

Football over the years has become one of the most enjoyed sports. Because of its wide acceptance, many rules are put in place to keep it fair and exciting. One of the rules is the concept of EXTRA TIME. Extra time is an additional period played at the end of a match, to allow the teams to achieve a conclusive result.

One day Jesus’ disciples went to Him privately and said, “Master, tell us, what will be the signs of your coming?” Jesus took His time and outlined all that would happen. According to Matthew. 24:5 – 14, Jesus said;

* Many will be deceived
* You will hear of wars
* Nation will rise against nation
* There will be famines and earthquakes.
* Christians will be persecuted
* Many will betray one another
* There will be many false prophets
* The love of many will grow cold
• Lastly, He said “…and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Practically, all the signs have manifested. This should be an awakening call to the fact that the end is closer than ever anticipated. We are only in an EXTRA TIME of existence and any time from now, the final whistle can sound. Would you be glad or sorry when that happens? The door of salvation is still opened. Make a decision today while it is still opened.

The world and passions pass away soon. Ask Jesus into your heart right now. Surrender all to Him as your Lord and personal savoir. Now that you have believed with your heart and confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, find a bible believing church near you and submit to discipleship.

Also, make it a point to share the gospel of our Lord to our lost and unbelieving generation before the “trumpet sounds”. Remember we are already playing within the “extra time” grace period. Repent before it becomes too late!
