Today’s Devotion
Topic: Rock-Solid Faithfulness
Text: Deuteronomy 32: 4
He is a rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He. Amen
A young man desperately wanted to travel overseas to better his lots. He did his best to falsify some travelling documents, fasted and prayed, vowed an offering to God and submitted his documents in faith- but well, he was refused the visa. Why did God do this to me? He questioned.
The truth is God’s character is as solid as a rock. He has never and will never act unjustly or unfairly. Everything He does is perfect- no faults and no wrong motives. Most often the things we blame God are the consequences of 2 basic facts:
i. We either fail to recognize that He is ever faithful only to His WORD and will always establish His utmost sovereignty in every matter.
Or
ii. We want Him to bend the rules in our favour even when we are aware our decisions are not resting on the right principles. He is a just God, He cannot be manipulated.
Henceforth, let’s all make the effort to conform our desires to His will and seek to do that which is right. No more cutting corners or engaging in unjust deals. Our Father in heaven will then prove to us why generations have called Him faithful till now. Begin to pray.
